La Parva (Luis Carrera 1263, Vitacura) – this is a town and ski resort located about 50 km northeast of Santiago. La Parva has a beautiful view to the valley of Santiago and it is the winter center for upper class capital residents, due to the great variety of refuges and private apartments, which are rented during the ski season.
La Parva is 2,650 meters above sea level. 14 lifts access 30 square kilometers of skiable terrain; 30 trails range from beginner to expert. The ski area of La Parva climbs a long ridge, like Aspen Highlands. Adventure skiers can access areas like La Chiminea, a perfectly shaped chute, or La Cara, a steep south facing wall. Heli-skiing and snowboarding are also available on-site at La Parva. Tickets to visit La Parva run from $7,000 pesos (“adults” over 12 years) to $5,000 pesos (children under 12).
