Plaza de Armas
Plaza de Armas (Compañía de Jesús, Santiago) – this is the center of the city, going back to the original urban planning the city during the 16th century. Various historic building are in this area, such as the Metropolitan Cathedral of Santiago, Central Post Office Building, and the Palacio de la Real Audiencia de Santiago.
In the main pedestrian plaza of the city, one will see street entertainers, art for sale, and get a good look at the faces of Santiago. The chess club of Chile almost always meets here during the days (pretty much every time I’ve been) and I’ve seen public dance displays on weekends.
